Jawahar Sagar Hydel Power Station
The construction of Jawahar Sagar Dam and Power House have been taken in the IIIrd stage of the project of “Chambal valley development Scheme” and the work was started during year 1964. It has three units of 33 MW each and having generation capacity of 60,000 KW power on 60% Load Factor.

The summber temp. goes upto 48 ° C and comes down upto 5 ° C in the winter season. The area is generally dry and healthy.

The commissioning dates of the Power Station are as under :-

Unit NO.1 - 09.05.1972
|
Unit NO.2 - 19.03.1973
|
Unit NO.3 - 19.07.1973
|
The generation was made on test basis upto 31.03.74 and the power station is handover to the then Rajasthan State Electricity Board on dated Ist April-1974.
|
At present the operation and maintenance of power station is done by the Rajasthan Rajya Vidhyut Uptadan Nigam Ltd. W.e.f. 15.07.2000, the date on which the original RSEB has been divided in 5 nos. companies by the Govt. of Rajasthan. However ownership of the power station is with Rajasthan Vidyhut Prasarn Nigam Ltd., which is the ancestor Company of erst while RSEB.

ACHIEVEMENTS:-
|
The performance of the power station remained in- credible since its commissioning. It has recovered all his construction cost within few years. Generation cost per unit comes between 4 P to 19P. The generation and PLF since commissioning of Jawahar Sagar power station have been enclosed at Annexure ‘A'.
